The dream of flying has preoccupied man since time immemorial. The fascination of discovering distant destinations and overcoming distances quickly resulted in the demand to optimize traveling times from the aspect of comfort. Meanwhile, airline companies offer their passengers a wealth of on-board possibilities: Releaxing sleep in a bed above the clouds, internet connection, or bars. Functionality only turns into a finished contemporary interior as a result of the designed shapes, materials and colours. Starting with the choice of material to the development of an artificial starry heaven inside the cabin, which counteracts against jetlag, everything is taken into consideration while designing the cabin, making the time the passenger spends travling, more pleasant. This book will show the most impressive and innovative 40 examples around Aircraft Interiors in big and small, private and business jets.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS:
Great book for visuals -

Some great images of some of the latest designs but a little short on text. Some great contacts into the aviation design community and who's working for who.

Most passengers do not really put that much thought into aircraft interiors. They simply want to get into their seat and quickly arrive at their destination.
The airlines though do put a lot of thought into interiors. And the higher the class of service, the greater amount of time and effort are put into that design and analysis. Interiors should not be taken for granted, as many airlines use their interiors to a competitive advantage. When it comes to the A380, Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Emirates who are the first three customers are using custom interiors as a competitive advantage.
For those who fly in first and business class, they clearly notice the amount of detail the airlines put in to ensure maximum comfort. With 180 lay-flat beds, portioned sleep areas, bars, enhanced privacy support, network access and much more, the aircraft interior is a big deal.
For those that are looking to gain some insight on the various flavors of aircraft interiors, the book of the same name is a beautiful and fascinating visual guide to the art and science of aircraft interiors. Airlines are using world-class interior designers much more today than in years past to create interiors that are aesthetically pleasing. The book notes that it is these aesthetics provide not just a pretty interior, but increased functionality. From specialized textiles, to the development of an artificial starry heaven inside the cabin, which counteracts against jetlag, all make the time the passenger spends traveling hopefully more pleasant.
The book showcases scores of different interiors, from private jets all the way up to the huge Airbus A380. The myriad pictures showcase interiors from the eye-candy insides of the private section of the A380, to more mundane interiors of years past.
Aircraft Interiors is much more of a picture book than a treatise on interiors. For those that are looking for more details on interiors, they will find that information in Jetliner Cabins by Jennifer Clay (www.amazon.com/Jetliner-Cabins-Jennifer-Coutts-Clay/dp/0470019336/ref=cm_cr-mr-title).
Many of the pictures in the book are of cabin mockups, so the seat that you eventually sit in may not be as in a pristine state as the photos illustrate.
For those that are looking to get a better appreciation of the accommodations of the innards of commercial aircraft, Aircraft Interiors is a visually rewarding book. It provides a look at the interiors of aircrafts that are rarely seen in any other text.
Commercial Aircraft Interiors -

I had hoped to glean some information on how to do some high-end packaging in small spaces. No such luck. Half the book is variations on the theme of the reclining chair (first class space usage). Most of the pictures look like fancy 1970s motorhome interiors. Not nearly as useful or entertaining as the DAAB book on Yacht Interiors. I like the series, but this book is a not worth much.
Great book, good deal! -

I thought the book great, the images/photographs are new and give you an overview of the current aircraft interiors in the market. In other hand the book is pictures only, no texts, just projetc names and references of the manufacturer.
As it is at a good price, I thought it a great deal.
For all home decor needs by Star City Home DecorShows Just What Could Be Done -

This design book on what can be done with the interior of an aircraft will come as quite a shock to those of us who have spent the better part of a lifetime in one airplane or another headed to yet another meeting or trade show. How many time we wake up after a nap wondering what airline we are on, and where are we going now. The inside of this plane is indistinguishable from the one a day or two ago.
This book shows what can be done when you have enough room, enough space to make a bed to sleep in, an office to work in, and of course all you need is your own private airplane. It also shows what the aircraft manufacturers do when they come up with new planes -- that's before the airlines use the space to cram in all the seats they possibly can.
Some, perhaps even most, of the designs in this book seem to be mockups. But they are designed to be real. They fit in the space, they meet the structural requirements, and they look a hell of a lot better than any airplane I was ever in.
